Cora Siré is a Montréal-based novelist, poet and short story writer. She is the author of five books. Her latest, Fear the Mirror (Véhicule Press, 2021), is a story collection blending memoir, fiction and essay. The novel, Behold Things Beautiful, was a finalist for the 2017 Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction.
Her short stories, essays and poetry have appeared in anthologies and magazines in Canada, the US, Mexico, and Europe. She has participated in literary events, festivals and readings in cities across Canada, the U.S. and in Europe.
She speaks English, French, Spanish and German and writes mainly in English. Born in Canada, she often writes of elsewheres, drawing on her encounters in realms ranging from Argentina to Vietnam as well as her home city of Montréal. She graduated from the University of Ottawa.
