Margot Fedoruk
BIO
Biography

Margot Fedoruk is the author of Cooking Tips for Desperate Fishwives: An Island Memoir (Heritage House, 2022). Her book recently won silver in Taste Canada's culinary narrative category in 2023. Holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg and a Creative Writing degree from Vancouver Island University, Fedoruk was honored with the Barry Broadfoot Award for creative nonfiction and journalism, as well as the Meadowlarks Award for fiction. Under the mentorship of distinguished writers such as Susan Juby, Kathy Page, Sonnet L’Abbé, Frank Moher, Robert Hilles, Robert Wiersema, and editor Joy Gugeler, Fedoruk honed her craft.

Fedoruk is in her second year of studies in the Masters of Library and Information Studies program at the University of Alberta. She lives and works on Gabriola Island, BC.
