Fred Kennedy
BIO
Biography

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, I have worked for over thirty years, teaching in both Jamaica and Canada. I pursued graduate studies in education in Canada and held administrative positions including the post of Principal of my alma mater, St. George’s College in Kingston, Jamaica. I have a great passion for Caribbean literature and history. After the publication of Daddy Sharpe, the story of Jamaica's National Hero, Hon. Samuel Sharpe, I completed my second novel, Huareo: Story of a Jamaican Cacique, which I have also translated into Spanish. My fourth publication, FIRSTBORN: The Life of Luis Fred Kennedy 1908-1982 was published, November 2022––a biography of my dad, written in honour of the centenary of GraceKennedy Ltd. It has won a gold medal in category of biography/memoir from Nonfiction Authors Association in US. My wife and I, our three children, and our grandchildren reside in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
