Thea Lim is the author of An Ocean of Minutes, which was a shortlisted finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, longlisted for Canada Reads, translated into three languages, and optioned for television. Her writing has been published in Granta, The Nation, The Paris Review, Best Canadian Stories, The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, Guernica, and others. She holds an MFA from the University of Houston. She has served as a book critic, a story consultant for film and television, as creative writing faculty at many schools including the University of Toronto, Sheridan College, and the Flying Books School of Reading and Writing, and as a mentor at Diaspora Dialogues, the Writers' Union of Canada, the Writers' Trust of Canada, and the University of Guelph. She was proud to sit on the jury for the Governor-General's Fiction Award and the Trillium Book Award. This past year she was the Barker Fairley Distinguished Visitor at University College and the Toronto Public Library writer-in-residence. She grew up in Singapore and now lives with her family in Toronto.
