BIO
Biography

Sheila E. Tucker is an author, poet, editor and illustrator. She studied English at the University of Toronto, and worked as a proofreader/graphic designer for an international firm for many years. Her newest published work is a full-colour children's book, On A Higher Hill: A Christmas Journey (2021), under the pseudonym S.E. Tee. This is the first of a planned series for ages three to seven years. Each book will focus on a holiday celebration in one of the world's religions. The second book, Through A Desert, is about the Jewish Sukkot tradition, and will be published in 2023. The third will be a Hindu celebration. All in a similar format, this series will consist of a poetic adventure of a child, followed by educational pages explaining traditions related to the holiday, as well as puzzle pages at the back. Visit facebook.com/groups/setee for more information.

In her 2019 memoir, Rag Dolls and Rage, Sheila recounted her childhood during the social revolution of Sixties Britain and shares the conversations she had years later with her psychotherapist as they sorted through her tumultuous younger years, all vivid events that are in turn happy, painful, funny and poignant. Rag Dolls and Rage is a memoir about hope, healing and resilience. Sign up for Sheila's free bi-annual newsletter at setucker@ragdollsandrage.com. This is a fun e-zine sent in PDF form with essays, pictures, music clips, quizzes and guest contributor pages. You can unsubscribe at any time.

In the role of editor-in-chief, Sheila published a juried anthology of prose, poetry and visual art for the Toronto Heliconian Club for Women in the Arts and Letters. Musings: An Anthology (2021) is a glossy, high quality book now for sale in the bookstore of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). As well, she was co-editor for Crazy Cove (2022), another anthology of fiction nonfiction and poetry.

Sheila is published in anthologies, magazines and newspapers, and is the founder of Poetry&Prose, an open mic in Oakville. She is currently writing a gothic/sci-fi novel.
