Patti-Kay Hamilton writes, paddles, skis,coaches and hunts on the lands of the NWT Metis Nation and Salt River First Nations. Home is Fort Smith in the heart of Wood Buffalo National Park where the Slave River rapids rumble even in the winter and whooping cranes soar overhead in the summer. Hamilton worked for thirty years as a reporter and producer with CBC North. She is a frequent guest at oral storytelling festivals and an award winning writer.
