Nicola Davison is a writer and photographer. Her first book, In the Wake (Vagrant Press) won the Margaret and John Savage First Book Award for fiction and was a finalist for the Dartmouth Book Award. Her second novel, Decoding Dot Grey (Nimbus Publishing) won the 2023 Ann Connor Brimer Book Award for YA fiction and was nominated for a White Pine Award at The Forest of Reading. Also a member of the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia, she completed the Alistair Macleod Mentorship Program in 2016; polishing off the umpteenth draft of her first novel with mentor, Carol Bruneau. Born in Nova Scotia, she has lived in too many places and done just enough world travelling to appreciate home.
