Margaret Lynch is a storyteller who writes about the humanity of people, places, and plights. She has been published in The Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star, literary journal untethered, the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) blog and the Examined Life Journal. Her writing has also been broadcast on CBC Radio The Sunday Edition and viewed on CBC Radio This Happened To Me.

She won the 2020 Penguin Random House Canada MFA Nonfiction Book Proposal Prize for her memoir TRANSFORMED: When My DNA Changed, So Did I, about how surviving an experimental bone marrow transplant transformed both her DNA and her life. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of King’s College in Halifax, NS and is a member of The Writers Union of Canada (TWUC), Canadian Authors Association (CAA), Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia (WFNS), and Creative Nonfiction Collective Society (CNFC). From 2020-2023 she was board chair and president of CNFC, leading the organization through a pivot to online events during the pandemic.

As a grateful leukemia and transplant survivor, she fundraises, volunteers, and publicly supports the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, and Canadian Blood Services. Based in Toronto, she is happiest when she’s on her bike.
