BIO
Biography

I am a wildlife veterinarian, author and storyteller. I have published 6 non-fiction books about my career and the animals I have worked with in Africa, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Mongolia. They species include giraffe (my first case), rhinos, elephants, lions, hippo, a variety of African antelope, polar bears, wolves, reindeer, moose, elk, red deer, and several other kinds of deer.

I have used the books to tell stories, on six continents, about these creatures, to audiences ranging in age from grade one children to grandparents (sometimes in the same audience), in schools, festivals, and on book tours. In Canada the only provinces and territories I have NOT worked in are New Brunswick and the NWT. I use the Cantastoria system (using photos).

The books (with reviews) and many magazine articles, storytelling events and their audience reactions, and photographs can be seen on my website  www.jerryhaigh.com
