Fathima Cader
BIO
Biography
Fathima Cader's writing has appeared in Guernica, The New Inquiry, Hazlitt, and elsewhere. Her 2021 essay, "Elegy," was featured in the New York Times' Interpreter newsletter. In her previous life as a public interest litigator, she represented workers and unions. She has taught at the City University of New York, Osgoode Hall Law School, and elsewhere. She holds a Marlee G. Kline Essay Award from the University of British Columbia for her academic work on sexual assault laws in Canada. She is currently based in Toronto, where she is writing a novel about terror and the forever wars.
