Rhona McAdam grew up mainly on Vancouver Island, then spent 14 years in Edmonton, and 12 years in London, England before returning to live in Victoria in 2002. She has degrees in English, Library/ Information Science, and Communications Planning, and spent a year in Parma, northern Italy, earning a master's in Food Communications from Slow Food's University of Gastronomic Science. She has a certificate in adult & continuing education, and is a registered holistic nutritionist.
She has been involved in a number of arts and literary organizations, including the National Book Festival, Celebration of Women in the Arts, and the Manulife Financial Literary Festival, and is involved in a number of food security organizations in Victoria.She has worked as a cook; records manager; technical writer & editor; technology trainer; and corporate & public affairs writer. She currently works as a freelance writer specializing in food and farming, and teaches online courses in gluten-free baking and ecology and nutrition. She is available for readings and workshops, and particularly enjoys reading, writing, speaking and teaching on food-related themes.
