My debut novel Ivy’s Tree was published by Thistledown Press in September 2020.
I completed a second draft of Millicent, the fictionalised account of my great-great-grandmother’s life in London’s East End in the 1850s. My work with this manuscript earned me a Letter of Distinction from Humber College Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing in 2020. This ms is now on its journey to find an agent or publisher.
I have a "ready to go" ms, Fort St John, at 88 000 words, also journeying to find an agent.
I taught academic and work place writing, story-telling, diversity education, and educating for social justice for 35 years at the University of the Fraser Valley. I retired as Director, Teaching and Learning in 2014; I received the rank of Professor Emerita in 2015.
In 1996 I completed my third novel, which so far has earned 18 letters of rejection.
My writing has always been a passionate outlet for the “what if” aspect of my personality.
