Lucy E.M. Black studied creative writing at the undergraduate level and later earned an M.A. in nineteenth-century British fiction.  She has also studied at the Sage Hill School of Writing, the Humber College School of Writing, and the University of Toronto Creative Writing Programme.  Her short stories have been published in Cyphers Magazine, under the gum tree, the Hawai’i Review,  Vintage Script, The Antigonish Review and other journals and magazines.  The Marzipan Fruit Basket, a debut collection of her short fiction, was released by Inanna Publications in June 2017.  Her first novel, Eleanor Courtown, a work of historical fiction was published by Seraphim Editions, October 2017.   Stella's Carpet, a novel about intergenerational trauma, was published by Now or Never Publishing, October 2021.  The Brickworks, a work of historical fiction, will be released by Now or Never Publishing Fall 2023.  Lucy lives with her husband in a small lakeside town near Toronto. www.lucyemblack.com facebook.com/LucyEMBlack  instagram: lucyemblack
