Catherine Astolfo retired after a very successful 34 years in education. She can recall writing fantasy stories for her classmates in Grade Three, so she started finishing her books the day after her retirement became official.
Catherine's short stories and poems have been published in a number of Canadian literary presses and anthologies. She won the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Canadian Crime Short Story in 2012 and 2018.
Catherine is a Derrick Murdoch award winner for service to Crime Writers of Canada and a Past President. She’s the author of five novels and two novellas, as well as several (as yet) unproduced movie scripts. She's a member of Crime Writers of Canada, Sisters in Crime, The Mesdames of Mayhem and The Deadly Dames Critique Group.
Catherine's novels are gritty, yet portray gorgeous surroundings. They deal with sensitive social issues, but always include love and hope. They're not thrillers, but rather literary mysteries with loads of character and setting in which justice always prevails.
Since the closure of her previous publisher, Catherine has begun to republish and is working on some new novels. Stay tuned by visiting: amazon.com/author/catherineastolfo
