Biography

Su Chang is a fiction writer with a debut novel (The Immortal Woman) forthcoming from House of Anansi in early 2025. An earlier draft was long-listed for the Maters Review's Novel Excerpt Contest, and a semifinalist at SheWritesPress' STEP Prize. It has received excellent early reviews from Giller nominees Thea Lim and David Bezmozgis, and National Jewish Book Award winner Joseph Kertes. 

Her story "On the Run" won a short fiction prize at Prairie Fire's 2023 Fiction Contest. Her story "Don't Look Back" was a finalist at the Fence/International Literary Seminar Fiction Contest, and longlisted for the Tennessee Williams New Orleans Literary Festival Fiction Contest.

Su has written several plays which were produced or stage-read in festivals and theatres across Canada. Her plays were recognized in the Hamilton Fringe New Play Contest, Ergo Pink Fest, FemFest, InspiraTo playwriting competition, Toronto's New Ideas Festival. Her work has been listed as an Editor's Pick and a featured play on Canadian Pledge Project, and serves as required reading for courses at University of Toront's Center for Drama and Theatre Performances.
